The Rectilinear Propagation of light means that light travels in a straight line in a given medium. When light falls on an opaque object, it cannot assist through it resulting in the formation of a shadow. This property of light helps in determining the shape of the object.
Rectilinear Propagation was used to validate the existence of reality. That what cannot be seen does exist.
